Recently I got a HA-UGE package of a delicious-looking array of bars from Rise bar. To this day I’m still so grateful of them for all the delicious tasting treats I received!
Instead of me repeating the macros and ingredients, I took a picture of each bar so you can see the entire label itself without me missing anything you’d want to know.
BREAKFAST BARS
CRUNCHY PERFECT PUMPKIN: I absolutely LOVED finding super large and crunchy pumpkin seeds and rice crisps with teensy bits of sweetness from the dried apricots, raisins, honey, dates and cranberries! I was kind of expecting it to taste like pumpkin pie, but it tastes more fruity and seedy than that. However, don’t let this discourage you from eating it! The bar is still super delicious, and it’s a great gluten free and dairy free protein bar! 😛
CRUNCHY CRANBERRY APPLE: Well, Rise bar makes their crunchy bars CRUNCHY all right! There are ginormous chunks of almonds in every bite, along with some cranberries and dried apple pieces. I wish that the apple chunks were larger in both quantity and individual size, because the almonds were a bit overpowering. This bar tastes a lot like an almond KIND bar with little hints of sweet fruit. Not the most exciting bar of the bunch, but it wasn’t bad at all.
CRUNCHY CASHEW ALMOND: For the people who don’t like a lot of sweetness this bar is for you! It’s a very crunchy bar that takes a long time to chew, which makes it a great alternative to granola if you take it apart into pieces and put it on top of a yogurt parfait or smoothie bowl. Personally for me this wasn’t the most exciting bar of the bunch but it was a lot easier to savor each bite.
CRUNCHY MACADAMIA PINEAPPLE: Macadamias and pineapples now have to be a staple combo for me! The minute I bit into this bar, I felt as if I was transported to the Hawaiian islands. Yes, it is a breakfast bar but I actually have half-and-half for dessert after lunch and dinner. I know, I’m weird.
PROTEIN BARS
CRUNCHY CAROB CHIP: OH MY GOD. This can NOT be a protein bar. It is literally a chocolate nutty fudge bar that tastes soooooo sinful…but it isn’t! Imagine an almond brownie Quest bar–this is absolutely it! I swear, one bite will make you want another one two twelve. Out of all the protein bars I’ve received, it has the best texture since it breaks off the most easily, doesn’t have to be microwaved and is the least sticky. Lastly, if you don’t tolerate cacao powder, carob is a great substitute in this bar. However, it is not exactly cacao’s identical twin, so you may think otherwise.
LEMON CASHEW: Vegans, rejoice! If you’ve been looking for a dairy-free and honey-free protein bar that tastes like Questies, then this is the bar! Do you know those lemon squares from those cute little bakeries? The lemon cashew bar has the exact same yowza flavor but with the extra deliciousness from the coconut nectar. Put it in the microwave for 15-30 seconds and it melts in your mouth!
ALMOND HONEY: Another ahhhhhhh-mazing protein bar that is soooooo tasty it’ll make you head spin! I am so impressed that there are only THREE ingredients: almonds, honey and whey, while Quest bars generally have seven more! As for taste, the almond flavor is very pungent as well as the honey flavor. Again, I like this microwaved at best and I eat it with a dessert fork.
SUNFLOWER CINNAMON: This is the second vegan protein bar of the protein bar bunch. It is also nut free,. And don’t think for a second that that means taste is sacrificed. Think nutty snickerdoodle. Bam, this bar is your new go-to! I found this bar to break off somewhat easily too, but I’ve microwaved part of it once and it tasted just like a cinnamon cookie fresh from the oven!
ENERGY BARS
COCONUT ACAI: A suuuuuuuper sticky but yummy bar! It’s very sweet and you can definitely taste the coconut with the acai. I do wish the acai was a bit more pungent in the bar; many bites were a little overwhelmingly coconuty–which I don’t mind at all–but some would. Overall, this is one of my favorite energy bars of the bunch that deserves a thumbs up!
APRICOT GOJI: This bar was super fruity and tasty–’twas love at first bite!–which is impressive since I initially am not a fan of mediciney-tasting goji berries. I absolutely loved the sweetness of the apricots; in the bar, they were the perfect balance of sweetness and sour tangyness. Great bar for vegans and fruit lovers!
BLUEBERRY COCONUT: Tastes similar to the coconut acai, with the only difference being the flavor of the blueberries and the acai. The flavor is amazing–I mean, can you really go wrong with blueberries and coocnut? But beware–it gets a little sticky! 🙂
RASPBERRY POMEGRANATE: There were times when I loved it and when I didn’t. I LOVE the combination of raspberries and pomegranates; it sounds like peanut butter and jelly, salmon and avocado, everything with Sriracha! While this bar was absolutely delicious, it was a little too sour for my personal preference; however, raspberries and pomegranates are pretty sour themselves. No one’s to blame–this bar is still a winner!
Hope you enjoyed this super lengthy review! Rise Bar deserves my full praise–it’s a really amazing company that, unlike many other companies out there, satisfy all dietary needs–gluten free, vegan, Paleo, high protein, etc.! Break out those wallets, everyone. You’ll be missing out if you don’t get these soon enough!
