As you read this, I will be departing to the gorgeous campus of California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, all with a couple suitcases, a swollen face and an open mind. Well, that’s if we don’t have enough time to make a couple of pit-stops in downtown SLO, of course! I mean, let’s be real, I’ve been DYING to try food from Big Sky Cafe! Nothing’s changed since the days I’ve been Yelping the heck out of my phone.
This is not to say that I’ll be blogging only once or twice a month on purpose, but I will definitely be taking the time to adjust to my new hectic lifestyle. Of course, the blog is something I’ll never, ever abandon because it encompasses so much of the person I’ve become and who I want to be. However, I have problems with priority, and I know that my basic necessities comes first. So yes, I’ll be studying and working for the majority of my time again, which is not at all pleasurable but beneficial to my future.
Not only will I be studying and working for +30 hours a week, but I will also be taking a lot of time for self-reflection and self-development. College is a time period of learning heaps about yourself, from knowing what you want to do to the crowd you surround yourself with, as well as gaining a sense of independence and confidence. It’s actually scary because I might not be as capable as I think I am, or I’m capable of even more than I would know to handle.
All I can say now is that I am so grateful. Pretty much for everything that I’ve experienced, that I’ve gained and lost so far since the day I was born. This is such a cliche but everything happens for a reason, a reason that you might know the instant something occurs, or years after when you look back and put together the rest of the puzzle pieces. As painful as it was, I had to suffer bullying and low self-esteem to learn how to stand back up as a stronger person. Creating my blog and social media platforms forced me to change my social skills and branch out to meet new friends. Challenging myself in my part-time career, school as well as my lifestyle enabled me to learn some new lessons: retail is history, college is a mystery, but today is a gift. Yes, I just quoted Master Oogway from Kung Fu Panda.
So yes, my present self is going to take some time off. Prepare for a few throwback posts that have been purposely scheduled in order to continue the consistency that I would always persevere through–it’s simply thinking for the future, and unfortunately, I might not be able to tackle on everything all at once right away. It’s why you will see photos from way way back, whether from my old house or from my Instagram long ago. I love my blog and I love you all. But I want to ENJOY college, work rigorously, join clubs, explore a new city, make new friends and challenge myself to a new routine. No more morning workouts every single day, no more elaborate recipes and photography editing, and no more computer work (aside from everything academics).
I promise that I will be back as a changed person for the better. I would have learned so much from my roommates, my friends and my professors as well as my new memories. I have so many personal goals that I have no idea how I will achieve them, let alone if I actually can. However, I guess that’s the thrill of it all. Not knowing anything. It’s truly going to be difficult. But it’s going to be amazing.
See you soon, my loves. 💖
