Of course, KIND doesn’t fail to disappoint. I just walked downstairs in my kitchen for a snack when I stumbled upon this beauty. Being in the chocolate mood 24/7 I immediately took this back to my room to try it while watching Channing Tatum dance ballet. Sometimes I have no life. Make that all the time.
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaanyway. The bar.
You can find the full list of ingredients here, but in short this bar is completely gluten free, whole-grain with oats, quinoa, buckwheat, amaranth, sorghum, millet and brown rice, as well as sweetened with natural sweeteners such as honey (so no, it’s not vegan)! The one ingredient I’m personally not a fan of is the canola oil. I would’ve preferred to see coconut oil or another oil agent, but it’s negligible. Also, this bar does contain soy lecithin, so if you don’t eat soy, be wary or avoid this bar. The bar’s nutritional info is 140 calories, 4.5 grams of healthy fat (1 saturated), 24 grams of carbs, 2 grams of fiber, 3 grams of protein and only 7 grams of sugar!
Taste wise, this is the absolutely PERFECT replacement for granola and sugary cereal! It’s sweet from the oats, crunchy from the popcorn, rich from the chocolate! What I’ve been loving is actually breaking it apart into small pieces in a bowl and munching on it like dry cereal or popcorn! It seems as if you’re eating more for less!
One tip to keep in mind is to not heat it up. Not that it tastes bad, but it ends up being so sticky that you’re more annoyed about sticky fingers than you’re happy eating the bar. However, you can definitely pair it with real air-popped popcorn, put it on smoothies, mix it in oatmeal, spread nut butter on top, and many more! My next prey targets are the Peanut Butter Dark Chocolate, Popped Salted Caramel, Dark Chocolate Mocha and Caramel Macchiato healthy grains bars. Will definitely be on the lookout next time I go to Whole Foods!
