Recall the time when you wanted a smoothie and just eye-balled everything by throwing whatever was in the fridge and blending it all up. Result? A smoothie with a disgustingly brown, slightly purplish-reddish color. Well, that’s basically this smoothie pudding treat except I guarantee that its taste is not nearly as gross as it looks! This recipe is terrific if you have a sweet craving but don’t want to make a large amount of food. It only makes one 8-ounce glass, but I put mine in a bowl so I could enjoy it like dessert! It’s creamy and has a pudding consistency, so it doesn’t feel like you’re chugging something really quickly.
RECIPE
- 1/2 cup blueberries
- 1 TBSP cocoa/cacao powder (1/2 scoop chocolate protein powder works as well)
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/3 cup almond or coconut milk
- Opt: sweetener to taste
PROCEDURE
- Blend all ingredients until smooth.
Okay, so it might not look blue, but rest assured it tastes like a river of chocolate covered blueberries! And you won’t even know it’s healthy. The amount of antioxidants is so high from the blueberries, cinnamon and cacao that you can ditch that bland green juice of yours–that is, if you hate green juice!
No hate on my plainness! And don’t judge food based on what they look like on the plate (bowl in this case) !
