I literally discovered this seconds ago and started fangirling spastically while reading SELF magazine. Peanut butter hot chocolate….without the chocolate? How is this possible? Well, apparently some crazy geniuses did. Peanut Hottie manufactures powdered peanut butter a lot like PB2 where you’re supposed to add boiling water and stir in the powder (however, this Huffington post review claims that it tastes much better with almond milk). And for 83 calories per serving you have a yummy, piping mug of liquidy peanut butter!
This brand claims to be free of caffeine, artificial colorings, additives and artificial sugars, and made of real peanuts! You can also use it to flavor pancakes, desserts and protein shakes for less fat calories than regular peanut butter. The most shocking recipe I’ve seen on their website was Peanut Hottie Ratatouille (that actually doesn’t sound bad at all!) You will be able to find them on Facebook and Twitter. It’s still a pretty young brand so I’m not 100% clear on the information. Maybe if I see it in stores I can look. You’d expect this baby to be sold only at the expensive Whole Foods Market or gourmet candy boutiques. But no….it’s at Walmart!!! I know exactly what I want for my birthday now 😉
While I wait for December to come so I can turn 17, can you believe it’s almost Thanksgiving already?! Anyways, my sisters challenged me to a cookoff where the three of us make something for Thanksgiving and our parents judge who made the star dish! Similar to most Food Network cooking shows like Chopped, except we use whatever ingredients we want. I am extremely excited for that day to come! I’m torn between a turkey maple sweet potato casserole and apple pie baked oatmeal with tons of cinnamon and walnuts. How delicious do they sound?! I probably will end up making the oatmeal because I don’t cook a lot with sweet potato besides popping it into the microwave for 4 minutes each side. I will fo sho give the recipe when that day comes!
And now for the combos! Have you ever had people look at your food and then at you as if you’re going to eat a mud pie? That was literally my entire journey eating healthier. But some foods just taste like they’re made for each other more than the regular combos like peanut butter and jelly. Nobody knows it yet, but there will be a food combo revolution.
Pineapple and Kale
Sweet Potatoes + Coconut
Strawberries + Cinnamon
Eggs + Edamame
Peanuts/Peanut Butter + Goji Berries
Blueberry + Quinoa
So which was the weirdest one? I’d say blueberries and quinoa, unless if you eat it like oatmeal. But I like it savory in a salad 🙂 I think they’re all delicious and genius. Sometimes I taste my food and wonder, why haven’t I been mentioned in Food Network yet?
Eat well and be happy,
